Carien Human

Counselling Psychologist.
(M.Soc. Sc Counselling Psychology (Cum Laude). UFS.)

“I love to journey with people, and when I think about therapy, I see it as a joined journey. I am walking my journey and calling, and you are walking yours, and for a season in time we choose to walk together. It makes me so excited to encourage, facilitate, support and believe in your journey of creating a life worth living.”

Carien is an integrative therapist that believes in making sure your process works for you and the season you are in. She graduated top of her class and received training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Sandplay Therapy among other modalities.

Carien completed her internationally accredited and comprehensive training in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy with Marsha Linehan’s Behavioural Tech in the USA and studied under Anthony DuBose (USA) and Fragiskos Gonidakis (Greece). As part of the South African Team that completed this, Carien proceeded to start the African DBT Association (ADBTA) with Dr Mirriam Close and Doctor Thriya Ramasar. ADBTA provides training in DBT and aims to make DBT more accessible to people in Africa.

Furthermore, Carien is an accredited Tomatis® provider and Interactive Metronome® trainer and she is in the process of completing her training in EMDR (Level 1 already completed).

Carien resides in Johannesburg with her husband and children. She loves spending time watching birds, animals and sunsets in the Bush or travelling back to her roots in the Eastern Free State.

Bontle

Counselling Psychologist

At the heart of my work as a psychologist is a deep passion for helping others navigate life’s challenges. For me, therapy is more than a profession, it is a calling to create a space where people feel truly heard, valued, and empowered to embrace their journey of growth and healing. Every individual has a unique story, and I will be honoured to walk alongside them as they rediscover their strengths and create meaningful change in their lives.

Bontle is a counselling psychologist, passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and discover their true potential. She holds a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from the university of the Free State and has received comprehensive training in a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solutions focused therapy, REBT, and Play therapy. Bontle completed her internship at the Student Counselling Unit (University of Pretoria), where she conducted therapy and assessments for the student population. The internship site also catered for clients at TUKS Sports High School and Daspoort Poli Clinic. Her approach is integrative, meaning she tailors the therapy process to meet the unique needs of each client. She draws on the best of these modalities to create a personalised approach that fosters healing, growth, and lasting change. Through a collaborative process, you will work together to build insight, cultivate resilience, and empower you to face life’s challenges with confidence.

I have an interest in individual, couples and group therapy.I am also in the process of getting training in DBT. An interesting fact about me is that I am multi-lingual, I speak English, Sepedi, Xitsonga, Isiszulu and Afrikaans.
