“We don’t have to do all of it alone. We were never meant to.”
– Brené Brown

“I love to journey with people, and when I think about therapy, I see it as joined journey. I am walking my journey and calling, and you are walking yours, and for a season in time we choose to walk together. It makes me so excited to encourage, facilitate, support and believe in your journey of creating a life worth living.”

(MA Counselling Psychology (Cum Laude) UJ)
I have a deep rooted belief that you have within yourself the ability to heal and create solutions that fit within your context. My role as therapist is not to solve your problems, but rather to ask the questions that help you find your own solution. Afterall, you are the expert of your own life.
My academic journey started when I completed a BA and then an honours degree in Drama from the University of Pretoria. My path then led to arts education and performance and I obtained a PGCE (Intermediate Phase) through UNISA. While I was a drama teacher I realised that I have an affinity and inclination towards helping my students reach their full potential, beyond what was expected of them in drama lessons. I then went on to complete a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology through the University of Johannesburg. I completed my Internship at Epworth Therapy and Assessment Centre in Germiston.
I have a special interest in psychometric assessment, child and adolescent therapy, Narrative Therapy and Solution Focused Brief Therapy, couples counselling, gender diversity, anxiety and anger management. I have worked in a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care for children in need of care and protection. I am trained in using an Integrative Approach to therapy, which means that I use a therapeutic approach that fits best with you and the challenges you are facing. I have undertaken further professional development in Solution Focused Brief Therapy, particularly in terms of suicide prevention and intervention and anxiety in children. I am also in the process of further educating myself in DBT through the DBT Institute of South Africa. I am proficient to do therapy and assessment in both English and Afrikaans.

"When you strip aside the interventions and the schooling and the textbooks, we are humans who listen and connect to other humans. We are masters of pain because we find peace with pain. And pain, even more than love, is the only universal human experience. But we get to help people heal from it. We matter."
_Sometimes Therapy is Awkward_, Nicole Arzt

“I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become.” - Carl Gustav Jung.
I am, first and foremost, a human being passionate about helping people improve their quality of life. Innate wisdom exists in every person, ready to remind them of their worth and ignite the fire needed to transform their experiences and rediscover their joy in life. I, therefore, strive to create a collaborative partnership with you and aim to empower you to gain insight and utilise existing resources and strengths on your journey toward healing and reaching your desired goals.
I have been trained in various therapeutic frameworks and thus prefer to work from an integrative perspective to tailor interventions based on the your unique needs and preferences. However, I favour using self-compassion- and mindfulness-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy. I am comfortable with conducting therapy in both Afrikaans and English.
Embarking on a therapeutic journey can be daunting. For this reason, I am committed to creating a space where you are accepted for who you are and encourage you to explore, discover, and harness the resources and strengths necessary to move toward health and well-being.
“Hope is the magic elixir that energizes dreams, fuels possibilities, and lets you live beyond the limits of your historical thinking. It is not a promise that something you want will happen — it is an invitation to enjoy the possibility of what you want while you and life negotiate the eventual outcome. There is never a good reason not to hope!” – Michael Neill.
